If you had to guess what do you think a 3♣ opener in 4th seat looks like?

Gambling offer.
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

something that looks like a 1C opener planning a 2.5 club rebid, no 4 card major.
Perhaps Ax xx KJx AQJxxx. But I have never discussed it with anybody, just a guess.
My dad opened 3C in fourth seat playing with me when I was just begninning. One would hope that basic logic skills would have lead me to figure out it was not a preempt, but I am sad to report that I did not.

Preemptive is not unreasonable, for sure you have to open a hand like x Ax KJx QJT9xxx because you just rate to go plus on the board, but you definitely want to block the opponents as well. I could see playing a 3C opener in 4th like this. More typically I've seen it played as something like x xx Axx AKQxxxx though, inviting 3N.
