Anyone got a link or willing to post detailed description of Smolen?
For example, if it goes 1nt-2c-2d-3h, what do the opener's responses of 3S, 4C, 4D mean?

Whatever they mean, it's not Smolen. Smolen is a jump in an unbid major after 1NT-2C-2D.

If you are looking for a link to the Smolen convention, here is one ...

But as blackshoe points out, your sequence has nothing to do with Smolen. Perhaps you left out a 2♦ response to Stayman by mistake?

QUARKY'S post DOES show a JUMP to 3!H....THEN:
3S= SERIOUS SLAM TRY
4C/4D= LAST TRAIN
4S=BAD HAND W/3S
3NT=23 IN MAJORS OR 3334/3343 WITH BAD SPADES.

This is not a part of the Smolen convention, per se, but I have always used Smolen on hands which do not have slam interest - in other words, they are game hands with 4-5 or 4-6 in the majors.
In my methods, with 4-5 or 4-6 in the majors and slam interest, one transfers to the longer major and bid the shorter major.
Everyone has their own pet methods, but I think this makes sense and avoids misunderstandings.

You will do ok if you never bid 4m. 4S would show a very slam unsuitable hand, 3S any hand with 3 spades, and 3N denies a fit. I would take 4m as a cue with a very slam suitable hand, and would not bid it very often.
It is easy enough for responder to distinguish between slam going hands and game going hands, so I don't understand why Artk wants to exclude them.
