Scoring: IMP

East is dealer at All Vul and passes. You (South) open 1 and LHO preempts 4 with 2 passes back to you.

I'd double for takeout and pull 4 to 5.

No risk no fun?
Against reasonable opps I risk passing, not competing. They have their bid.

Your options are either Pass or X.

I would go with Pass, but the meek may inherite the earth,
but they dont win at bridge, or more precise, I guess X is
the better call by a fair margin.
This would be espesially true red vs. green.

If you are going to pull isn't it much better to pull to 4.

Partner is allowed to be 4=4 or similar in the majors.

Yes, much better, partner will correct to 5 if there's no fit in the Majors. (Though I'm expecting partner to pass, mostly).

Does partner pass an interesting MM/ M-suit/ C-fit with 8+ HCP? If he doesn't have such a hand, pass.
