Scoring: MP

---1-(P)-?

Here's a hand that came up the other day. You're playing 2/1, and partner opens 1 in first seat. What's the plan?

I give him a constructive raise with 2 .
Yes maybe we play 2 Spade when slam is possible, but I would need a fourth trump to get exited about this hand.
If I don't play constructive raise, I go for a limit raise with 3 trumps, so 1 NT followed by 3 Spade.
Kind Regards

Roland

GF with 2 and then bid spades. I am not willing to stop below game, maybe sometimes we get to a bad slam or a bad game but usually game will make and that is why we need not stop short of game.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

I will call this a 3 card limit raise. Move my K to clubs and I'll GF.

Agree with Pclayton.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.
