1♠-2♥
2♠-3♦
?

partner's 2NT and 3♥ would have been non forcing. Under these circumstances, what should partner's 3m bids be?

I actually had this hand and had no idea what to bid.

Bonus question: what's the vanilla 2/1 rerebid here as opener?

(btw I'm not curious if "sayc" is an appropriate description of this system. I'm curious what the rerebids would be in a 2/1 non gf)
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

3H. Will pass 3NT, bid 4D over 3NT or 4C and bid 5D over 4D.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

I would bid 3H.

With a random pickup I'd have rebid 2NT. On the auction so far, I'll bid 3♥-the failure to raise partners hearts earlier denies 3 card support.

#1 3D is game forcing, should show 5-4,
but maybe responder has 6 hearts,
and wants to force to game, n which
case he may or may not invent a 3m
bid.

#2 3H, should show secondary support and
deny a club stopper.

#3 Playing 2/1: 3H.

I would have rebid 2nt, in any case easy 3h now.

3♥ is clear.

I have no problem with either 2♠ or 2NT on the previous round. It is a matter of personal and partnership preference. However, having bid 2♠, it is now clear (to both partner and the opponents) that you don't have enough in clubs to bid 3NT.
