I have to admit that I began by not understanding this auction... it sure looks like a weak field, in all 4 seats.

let's see: I passed a 12 count in 2nd seat, with 5 controls, two 10s and no rebid issue. Who am I? Roth or Stone?

Then I opened 1♦, reasonably enough, with a modest 11 in 4th seat, but felt obliged, with a flat hand and the same 11 I started with, to bid 2♠ rather than wait to see if partner could bid... knowing that he almost certainly could, since (unless everyone at the table passes opening hands) he has about 9-11 hcp. Maybe I didn't notice that my 11 count should be devalued because the heart K is probably offside?

Then, as North, having heard partner open and then voluntarily bid 2♠, and having an opening hand that I have hidden so far, upgradable to a sound opening due to the heart position (most opps will have a heart honour for this overcall) I invite game???

Frankly, playing with either partner, I lose interest rapidly. Why bother thinking about declarer play when neither partner knows anything about bidding?

No Mike I played it and I could not count on my pard to reopen - or I could have been playing 3♦ for all I know.

I know this isn't real bridge (it isn't to me anyway), but I really didn't post the hand to elicit an editorial, sorry.

Perhaps its easier if you just pretend partner did open open 1♣ and we ended up in 3♠ after I invited

I would play two round of spades, 3 round of hearts and play a 3. spade hoping that West will win and take his diamonds because he does not like to play in the double chicane. I play him for Qxx,xxxxx,AKx,Qx and some defensive errors.
