Cuebid after an overcall

(pass) - 2♦
What do people use a cuebid here as?
I have the agreement that 1♠ is forcing, so the obvious candidates would be a good spade raise (or whatever 3♦ would be in the sequence 1♥ - (2♦) - 2♠ - (pass) ), or a max overcall, i.e. generic forcing bid. What agreements do you have for this kind of sequence?
Thanks.

You already have 2♠, 3♠, 4♠ etc as spade raises as well as splinters so it would seem to be very inefficient to play a cue as a raise.
I believe that the USA currently hold only the World Championship For People Who Still Bid Like Your Auntie Gladys - dburn
dunno how to play 4 card majors - JLOGIC
True but I know Standard American and what better reason could I have for playing Precision? - Hideous Hog

I like it as a general force since an overcall can be like 6-18 and a new suit can be almost as undefined.
Someone, somewhere in these auctions actually needs to try to define their range and cuebid serves the purpose quite nicely.

Do not underestimate the power of the dark side. Or the ninth trumph.

A further question for the generic forcing (i.e. not natural), people:
would 2♣ after 1♠ be non-forcing? (think this might be wtp...)

2♣ after 1♠ is NF, wtp

2♣ is NF and is up to roughly a 12-13 count. You should also ask the question if 1♠ is forcing (it is for me).

Would you still treat it as natural if it were a major?

No. That's just overboard.
