X was support for spades, or penalty of NT?

If it's penalty, passing might be ok in case they sit (580 vs 600 isn't much of a loss in 1NX+2, but hedges against 3N-1).

If it's support, maybe you want to try 3 or 3N?

Pass.

I understand XX, but sometimes it wll
help, not to tell them, that you are happy
sitting 1NTx.
Because how happy are you, if 2Sx comes
back?

As far as I can see, someone doesn't have their bid - my partners don't bid 1N lightly in this situation - even when I have made a red vs white overcall which should be reasonably up to strength (as opposed to some of the bus tickety things I like to do with the colours reversed).

Anyway, at IMPs I think I pass for now, for the reason RobF gives. If it were MP, then 580 for 1N*+2 is not adequate compensation for 3N so I redouble for now and see what happens.
