  1. South should bid 4H instead of asking. Its IMPs! (19 votes [79.17%])

The bidding goes

Pass - Pass - 1D - Pass
1H - Pass - 2H - Pass
2S! - Pass - 3H All Pass

2S was an artificial bid asking partner to bid the cheapest suit in which he would accept a game try. 3H said that partner wouldnt accept any game try.

You have the agreement that partner can raise to 2H on 3-card support and shortness, but somehow you dont recall that ever happening. You can count on 4 card hearts sipport.

Partner didn't pass 1♥, so he rates to have a real opening bid. Opposite that, I will just bid 4♥ at IMPs, as there seems to be no way to find out how much he has in ♦.

This seems normal, I can't vote in this poll.
South has a big disadvantage in his singleton diamonds, but on the other hand he has an extra heart.
If you think bridge is about blaming, blame South.

How can one blame North if South makes the first capital blunder? If South wouldn't mastermind, North can't make a mistake.

I also use a form of asking bids about the major suit raise, but I do not think I would be so concerned about that with this hand and greatly prefer 3C as a game try which the N player accepts.

I would have opened the South hand, and I definitely would have bid game after a raise.

Hi,

South had an easy game bid on this auction, but north should have at least cooperated by bidding 3C with such a good spade holding. They both made serious errors IMO.

Hi,

I dont think, you can blame North, he has a weak
NT, oft values, I would not accep an invite either.
Maybe, if you open sounder than average, than
North should reconsider, but I say 0% blame for
North.

I think it is 50% South, 50% bad luck, and unless
I am wrong, game is "only" 50%, so missing it
being green is not the end of the world.

Both are chicken. North should accept a couple invites. However south has an automatic 4♥ hearing partner raising to 2♥, so south is the bigger chicken here.
