6 looks normal to me. I gather from your hidden continuations that the people at this table are not very experienced.

Hi,

you can either pass, intending to bid 6S over 6H,
and 7S over 7H, or you can bid 6S direct, and pass
in the following rounds.

I may go with pass, maybe i get away cheaper than
after a 6S bid, but it may well be more expensive.

I pass 5. Pard did plenty of damage with 4 and I don't feel like pushing them into a slam. There's no reason not to expect they will play 5. I can sac later if need be.

Pard's double is a big surprise. Suddenly 5 looks like a make.

5, I would also do this with a three-card discrepancy in the majors.
