Hi all friends,
Today I received disapponting news that my friends Ece (ecepal) and Steve (2over1, topflight) are going to leave BBO. I wish we all the fans of our lovely game of bridge might try to convince them to stay with us.

Ece and Steve please do not leave BBO we need you!!!!!!!!!

I agree with Rado.

ECE and Steve has contributed much to bbo. Topflights tournments have been very entertaining and learning to kibb.
Steve has been very fun to get to learn and when he is playing it is party to kibb.

Steve And Ece, pls stay.

Though I am an Novice here at BBO, I have taken great pleasure in kind "welcome"-greetings & the effort you put into the promotion of bridge. I was particularly glad of the Junior TopFlight coming on, and so were many of the international Junior players I know - from several countries.

You know Kipling's "If" ? 'Bow' your head, but 'rise' again.
Please, reconsider!

Well If it helps I think that Ece and Steve do a wonderful job.

If what you need is help or support I'll be happy to help.

What a shame to hear this news :( Unfortunately I can relate to your decision

Good TDs are few and far between. You leave many friends and admirers behind. Best of luck to you both in your future endeavors.

hi ece/steve

as a close friend im not going to ask u to reconsider /change your minds because i believe i have to respect your desision in wahtever u decide , however i can share my sadness and my unbelieve that this had to come sofar, i think some problems have to be kept small when they still are small and be dealt with when there still is a possiblity to work them out/preventing from exceeding.

I expressed myslef claerly about the Jr Flight thing and will provide the link in here in case someone missed it

Both Ece and Steve have worked very hard on BBO, each in their own way.... They are very dear friends of mine, and I am very sad to see them go... All their friends are still pulling together to try to persuade them against it; alas, our help is not enough.. Hopefully we can be successful in making it worth their while to stay on..

Ece and Steve are a very much need team for BBO members. They do everything possble to make BBO the best place to enjoy bridge. From tourney to a program for Juniors (which I fully support). I would hate to see them leave simply because "someone" can't seem to be stopped from making their lives miserable.
If there were something possible for me to do - to keep them here...I'm ready!!!

Pls., lets not make this a discussion of why E is choosing to leave, and why S. is following suit. We can't have any prior disputes spill over into this forum. We don't have the disk space, if nothing else :(

If you want E/S to stay, msg them or email them and say so

Are you serious about disk space or is there some problem between BBO and Steve/Ece? Each post is in average 1K, I think you can afford up to a thousand posts about this subject before having a real complaint.

I really don't have a clue about what the problem is with Steve/Ece so any private message will be welcome.

I think you misunderstood uday.

He didn't say you couldn't express the desire for them not to leave, or to come back if they have official left at this time. Please feel free to do continue to do so.. Here I will do so myself,

Steve, Ece, my dear friends, please reconsider your decision.

With that taken care of, what uday said was not to make THIS THREAD a discussion of WHY they left. In fact, I have deleted post by some people and edit post by another who raised the WHY question long before UDAY's reply above. I would have edited the comments out of reisigs post as well, but uday;s response has handled it imho.

There are reasons for their departure, and what Uday was suggesting, is that a discussion of those reasons in a public forum like this would be inappropriate in his views. I am certain there are many, many who would be willing to try to work out a solution, and help make it a lasting one. But trust me, nothing will be served by discussing it here in this forum. The reason is fairly clear from reisigs message, becasue it will result in people picking sides, mentioning players by name or nicknames... etc. And in addition, it would not be productive and the simply opening such a discussion would not bring ece or steve back. If you want to help, message them privately on this site or at their regular email. That seems a reasonable approach to me. Or if you are a certain person, you could make your message public here and ask Ece not to leave, too. That would be a very nice, magnanimous gesture on your part to help out one of your old friends.

Thank you Ben for clearing this misunderstanding... why? should not be discussed, but expressing feelings of sadness at seing Ece and Steve leave are allowed..
I apologize, i missed the posts which asked the reasons, i had only read the other ones. (maybe you had already edited)..

Regards,
Aisha

please ece & steve try to reevaluate your decision...

With the ups and downs we have in life same happens everywhere we are active.
People always feel remorse for the things they hvnt done.
Whatever your decision: may it bring you luck through out your lives!!

Take care
We love you life on BBO wont be the same without you.

Words can't express the feeling to logon and not being able to send an oink or moo message to Steve. Unfortunantly I didn't have the pleasure of meeting ece, but, if he is even close to being as nice and friendly as Steve is, it's with big grief I bid thee farwell.

I'm sad that it all had to come to this, I will really miss you during my online time at BBO. I sincerely do hope that you will be able to work this all out and return to BBO. Even if that might not be possible, I still hope for it.

Until then, moo and oink my friend!

A sad, melancholy day for BBO - one that tears at the moral conscience of the game itself. It is self-evident to me that there are factors in play that don't want to be revealed ...

(uday: possible flamebait erased. No more, or i shut this thread down.).

.....I am bitterly heartbroken over this development. ....

(uday: again )

As the great statesman Churchill eloquently stated before the Battle of Britain on 18 June 1940:

"What General Weygand called the Battle of France is over. I expect that the Battle of Britain is about to begin. Upon this battle depends the survival of Christian civilization. Upon it depends our own British life, and the long continuity of our institutions and our Empire. The whole fury and might of the enemy must very soon be turned on us.

Hitler knows that he will have to break us in this Island or lose the war. If we can stand up to him, all Europe may be free and the life of the world may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands. But if we fail, then the whole world, including the United States, including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new Dark Age made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science.

Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves that if the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say, 'This was their finest hour.'
"
"Champions aren't made in gyms, champions are made from something they have deep inside them - a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have last-minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill. " - M. Ali

Gang

I really don't want to see any derogatory or obnoxious references, no matter how oblique you think they are.

if you think it sucks that these guys are bailing, say so. If you think it is great, best to keep it to yourself. If you think it appropriate to extrude venom upon those you believe responsible, pls think again.

monitoring forums where loose fingers are sliding all over keyboards is not much fun, and I would much rather be with my source code.
