5C.
It would be helpful to have an agreement about 4NT,
and espesially not being RKCB.
One option being good-bad, in which case a strong hand
with diamond support could go via 4NT to make an slam
invite, not having this agreement, you have to guess, how
partner takes 5C as cue agreeing diamonds, or as real suit.
With kind regards

Passing and passing a X is very attractive to me, the problem is just that passing will induce partner to bid 5D too often imo. Doubling with this hand is too disaster prone also, so I guess that leaves 5C.

5♣
You think this was tough? Wait until partner's hand is posted and we have to make his next call
Or our 3rd call.

On that note...
partner bids 5D and it is back to you. I am not proud of the call i made at the table and i think it got what it deserved
the two hands
xx xx AKQxxx Kxx
Ax KJ87xx --- AJTxx
the breaks on the hand were terrible. I managed to go for 1100 in a contract i should not have been in (5H) . This was a win 7, on account of the other table finding the same strain as me, but a level higher
With hearts being AQT9 offside, and clubs breaking 5-0, diamonds 2-5, this was not a very pleasant hand to declare.
*sigh*

Why didn't partner pass 5♣! And why didn't LHO double 5♣ with apparently something like xx AQT9 xx Q98xx!! Oh well, 5♣ not doubled down 4 or something, woot woot.

I think 5♦ is a bad bid, we could have passed if we didn't have extreme shape, or passed-and-pulled with a diamond fit on the side.
