I would be so tempted to open 2H on this, but don't tell anybody. 3H now, double could easily be the winner though.

Passing is the undisciplined action here. You have values, and (very) short clubs, as such it is your responsibility to act.

The choice is between double and 3♥.

I bid 3♥.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

It really looks like partner is sitting there with a penalty double. So I'll stick my neck out and double. I'll look very stupid if RHO has a nice hand and partner bids 3♠....

I doubled (glad to see Harald's support at least) but think that 3♥ is the better call.

Opener had eight clubs to the AJ but we still took 6 tricks for 300. We can make at least eleven tricks in hearts, as our opponents proved when they played 5♥ doubled after an opening 5♣ at the other table.

I held the ♣ hand which was something like ♠xxx ♥- ♦xx ♣AJxxxxxx.
I think 3♣ is the right bid second in hand at teams because it allows partner room to bid 3N.

With a non-running 8-card suit and a void you worry about 3N being the right contract?
