hi
overwhelmed with calls , adjusts and so on(was adjusting still baords 2&4) in round 6 , i saw no other options then to pull the plug , after had a talk with co-td, he only got a few calls(when things are normal we discuss who takes what but no time to do so yhis time), at least not in far so many as me, so i wonder how is it devided, must add only one said im crazy to do that and i got over 50 players aying me , "i undertstand, dont wurrie" , made a couple announcement in front of that that i saw no option to continui, one player managed to call me +30 times, i know can boot him but there simple wasnt time enough, this particuallry player i let in again after 3 months, he probaly needed to make up for the times he coudnt call me in the past:( but besides him it was a huge number, i finnaly took a screenshot and cancelled it, saw now after all this time that u have to click it twice, u get a "do you REALLY want to cancel"sorry all

I think the confirmation before you cancel a tourney is a good thing.
TD calls are assigned on the basis of table numbers - if you have 2 TDs and 10 tables, table 1 - 5 go to TD1, 6-10 to TD2 (or something like that)
Not ideal, but no plans to change in the near future

Hi Uday;
I will check and see if TD calls are divided the way you mentioned... it sounds fair enough; but from what i remember just hosting 2 days ago, i was getting calls from table 4, then 18, then 46... (numbers are random) but just trying to tell you that calls were coming from different sections, and we were 3 TD's
Thanks
Aisha

Y, i dont remember exactly how i do it... might be that i divide the tables into ranges and use those, or assign every Nth table to a TD. Bottom line is that it is possible that one td gets more calls than another in the short term

hi,
had a terrible time again today, 2 players repaetly called me, 17 times in less then one minute, u know everthing freezes, i want to their table, clicking on very call they made, i before that told them in private not to call gain, still three calls came after that
i think we all aware it is then good time to boot the "xxxx"(optional for all td to think a name). I booted them , yesterday already had to cancel when i coudnt cope(yesterday except for one(abusse numbers of calls) they were from different players, today tried everything to not cancle , ending up booting them, after that several told me that those 2 were "roasting" me in the lobby. i turned lobby chat on, saw only one thing
blackeye (Lobby): THIS GAME is on FAIR players not Dictators!
then i turned it off after a minute, after that others told me to put it back on because they continuied
this is what i saw next
schammy (Lobby): blackeye perhaps you should play on a site where you pay - let's keep this site friendly and fun
member(changed it)->Lobby: who gave him a blackeye ??
so this was seen and notified by others that felt the need to coorect them in public.
Now my question is , i have lobby chat off, my co- tds logchat is disabled (he will post a topic asking how that can happen while in his profile says on)
does anybody can help me recover that chat so i can send it to abuse?
thx marc

hi,
there are co-directors, enough, the point is 4/5 players can disturb a tourney anyways and i dont see the point that every callcrazy player shoud have his own td, do you?

Marc send them all an invite to take me up on the deal I have offered them (see other thread)
If any of them have the guts to do it I will be sure to let you know the time - feel free to play and of course there will be no restrictions on the # of times you can use the Director button !!

Directors having to cancel tournments due to unruly participants is a bad sign. A bad sign of inappropriate behvavior by participants. First I heard of this was Bambi1 post early lst month. Now an experience TCD spwdo cancels one. I hope some wise and experienced BBF member can help think up a solution to this problem.
But I do have a question. Is this because of too many players and too few TD's? I don't remember the exact number uday use to recommend, but I think it was something like 40 pairs (20 tables). When I was directing more frequently, I held the little tourneys I ran to 20 tables, unless I had help. Sure I had an unruly player now and then, but as long as only one, or maybe two I could handle them ok. Is it that there are now a higher percentage of unruly players or is that the events are too large and the directors too few?

hi,
we always work with 1 td first 100 pairs,2 for max 160, 1 at least for every 60 more, in calm days when not to much trouble for alerts , query problems 60tables is manageble.
we have some more work with now beeing able to look up every baord but i think this is not mentionable due to the fact the long talks about requirering tablnumer where they played last(we needed that in a dark age to adjust) are gone
What happend in the first case(canceld one) i seemed to have the luck/bad luck to get all calls from tables actually calling when my co-td had a vey smooth time with only minor issues.
In the scond one really one pair was callcrazy for an adjust, tourneyrules about mutiple calls are know , 17 in total from 2 players, with in mind what happend day before i explained them it was to much and i booted them
Now to asnwer rest of your question ben, several td are saying that overall unruly incident are increasing, this is not recently but from some time ago, i however fell the increase of that is stopped, i think it got something to do with how u run tourneys, the no show ,non adjusting, playing td will i believe have larger problems in time
Now as for your asking for a solution, uday told me this is a project he gonna take up in a forseable future
p.s. must add that every one of these players doing that to me/us was blacklisted in the past, hosting a lot means also having a larger blacklist but i enable most again prior to the 100the bridge too far, so maybe for a few its something personal(that they didnt agree with first listing) i donno
THX hallway, offer seems sometimes very tempting:)

We've been collecting data on tourney bailers for several days. Mon PM, i expect to "tourney-ban" our first batch of bailers.
I say this because being subbed out counts as "bailing" from a tourney. So if you sub out unruly players, you can be assured that the server is logging this, and the player will be tourney-banned if he misbehaves too frequently.

A cry for help is embedded here in Marc's bad experience. Because players ARE able to disrupt a tournament and because the ones who are so inclined know this, it really is important to give serious concern to the option of allowing ONE and only one active call per table.
I too had a tournament that I very nearly cancelled for the same reasons Marc listed. My screen was so filled with TD calls that I was unable to work - you can't see anything, each new call interrupts your attempts to take action on the previous calls, and when you start moving the calls out of the way its tough to tell in which order they originally came.
I think most of us know our own limits for the number of pairs/tables we can manage. I don't often have a co-Director for several reasons that aren't pertinent, but I cut off sign-ups at my limit and don't budge unless I see a sufficient number of registered players/partners who aren't online - (speaking of which, could these be dropped at the 2 minute before mark or some other cutoff time?). But even when working with a co-Director, I too am experiencing what others are suggesting - the TD calls aren't being evenly distributed and one TD is typing like an octopus with 6 keyboards while the other is thinking the tournament is smooth as glass. Most of the time we can refer calls to the other TD, but when you are swamped, there is no time to locate the TD's name to private chat to them.
If you are running a Survivor Tourney, the crisis passes with a cut or two; but if you are running a game with no cuts, there is no solution but to do what Marc did.
