If you make a winning finesse and more than one card remain in opps hand, always go back and take the finesse again.
A painful lesson at the club today;
I held trump AQxxx opposite xxxx and so I played low to AQ, LHO popped up with the J, I covered with Q which held. The contract is cold now.
However, instead of returning to my hand and playing low again I got lazy and played the Ace off the table.
RHO showed out, LHO played x under my A for 1.
LHO held KJx and cunningly went up with the J allowing me to fall straight into the trap.

LHO is a good psychological player.

Uh, if LHO had played low the first time I assume you would have just played the queen. So west is a good psychological grosvenorer?
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

Agree. 9 cards = finesse the Q.

Actually, AQT9x opposite xxxx is an interesting combo ...
The "max tricks" line is not the "MP best" line unless not enough entries to pick up the 4-0 or if you think opp with void would always bid.

I actually played a heand recently where I finessed both ways intentionally.
I cannot remember the layout, but the gist was that I suspected a random Queen duck by my LHO. I had something like KJx in hand and A10xx on dummy. After winning the Jack, and then the King, I later played small toward dummy. At that point, for some reason, I must have had a count and decided to hook the 10, winning.

Wasn't there a famous Zia hand where he was defending and when declarer finessed the Queen he falsecarded and played the J from Jx thus making declarer thinking the trump suit was Kxx --- J and thus was persuaded to waste a valuable entry to 'finesse' again.

Not sure if I know that exact hand but that is a common play, good one to know.
