My guess was correct :rolleyes:
3 bid could be request to partner bid 3NT if he has . Opener had , expected partner to have stopper and strong hand after double and thought 3NT could have a reasonable chanses.
I am sure it is a bad idea, but bad bidders sometimes get lucky.

I think it's pretty obvious that the diamond bidder thought the double was negative :rolleyes:

and since p promissed 4-4 in the majors, he might as well bid his better one.

in retrospect, 3 is clear. I am more amazed that the doubler didn't raise :(
