Scoring: IMP

(1)-P-(1)-X
(XX)-

XX shows precisely three spades. What's your plan?

Edit: If you pass, partner will bid 2.

If pass now is "no preference", then pass and pull pard's 2D/H to 3.

If pass now is "let's play", then 1NT + pull to 2 if doubled.

If opps 1 is 3+, 2 should be natural now.

I'll bid 3. Seems important to make some encouraging noise. I don't even mind if partner thinks it's forcing.

Agree with 2C natural and pass please bid something partner. If I didn't feel confident about partner being on the same wavelength (I often wouldn't) then I would just bid 1N.

See, I'd take a delayed 3 as clubs and a direct 2 as a good hand I suppose you'd take the delayed 3 as a cue bid?

No idea what is best or what is standard.

Sometimes you don't have a good hand with clubs and you just have a shitty hand with clubs then you don't want to bid 3C.

4, not really a problem.

Not saying that I agree with 2.

I polled a few good players on this one, and 2 (or pass) is available with a good hand. Ergo, 2 is natural.

I stand corrected. :)

Mikeh, with KQTxx opposite your parnter's known stiff (at best), you want to play 2S. Spades showed 4, xx showed 3, only 1 left.

IMO 2 = 10, 3 = 8, 2N = 6, 1N = 4, 3N = 2, 2 = 1
bids are natural but maybe don't quite do justice to this powerhouse.
I reckon a sensible rule is that pass of opponent's redouble is penalty oriented, so if you pass you are likely to be defending a 1-level game B)
