1) Invite in NT is fine.
2) Why does everyone want to wrong side the NT. If partner holds Ax, you now have two stoppers, but only if you bid the NT. And when I am balanced, I show a balanced hand.
3) 1 Spade. I agree, WTP? Don't always have to be clever.
