The opponents have this uncontested auction:

P - 1NT
2♣ - 2♦
3NT - P

So you are on lead against 3NT playing 4th best and standard honor leads, with 1NT 15-17.

I think the ♦K is clear at IMPs, but what do you do at MPs with this 12-count?

First choice low spade, second choice low diamond. The diamond is most aggressive but seems too risky.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

♦K is my choice at matchpoints, too. It needs less than any other choice to be safe, and offers a better chance of defeating the contract (last time I checked, plus scores are good at matchpoints AND IMPs).

These diamond leads really seem suicidal at MP. You must be blowing a trick a large percentage of the time.
