Some times the best bid is PASS. Take the money.

I pass, sometimes this even snags a trick for something silly in partner's hand like Tx when declarer doesn't know our holding is so bad.

Ick.

Very hard to figure out what the odds on call is. Given vulnerability, Pass.

May be ugly. May be a silly 3-3 fit, but it won't be -670

Yesterday my 3-3 fit for the day on the two level was -1100 :)

I'm fixed. 2S might work out... 2Hx might work out... and so might 3NT. Who says partner has to have a minimum? If RHO doesn't have an outside entry, this might even come in.

We play direct denies so: 2N (leb) followed by 3N.

you had nowhere else to go? If I bid 2 here, and got doubled on my right, I'd pull to 2N, which should clue partner in.

And if ALL of our reachable spots go for 1100, then I have my doubts about partner's hand when I hold a 9 count including the Ace of LHO's suit :)

I really had nowhere else to go, but this one certainly seems better than 1100. After all, our fingers are still crossed for a 4-3 fit!

2S. Would not dream of passing - except in a nightmare.

I concede that pass MIGHT be the winning bid. But I'm a 2 bidder anyway.
Kind regards,

2S Not a big problem, 99% of the time he has spades and there is no guarantee we are beating 2H. If my hand were slightly stronger (10-12), I would bid 2N since I am one of the few people who thinks there is a big problem with playing Lebensohl in this auction.

1) I sometimes hold invitational hands in NT.
2) Although my spots in preempt suit may be bad for tricks since they are badly placed, they give me time as stoppers.
3) When doubler holds the strong hand, you have just wrong sided the NT.
4) 2H-x- 3rd person takes action with fit or good values, so you can gauge it.

If I had a couple of intermediates I might try 3NT, but the hand is so poor that 2 looks as the only sensible choice.
