I went to the local bookstore and they turned out to promote a new book, the "Dictionary of non-related words". It promised that "with the help of this book you will be able to write 100% nonsensical sentences".

I believe they also sell a book on "How to identify a dead parrot" as well as the Upperclass Twit of the Year 2008 calander.

Helene has been playing too much bridge with csaba and extrapolated the latter's random bidding to the area of linguistics.

Wow, I did my best to dream something that has never been dreamt before, then it turns out that BBC already has a gameshow about the same topic.

Maybe that is why you moved to England? You were drawn there by the sympathetic vibration?

Looks like a good road trip game.

I was of course joking, trying to elicit amusing responses of this "dissociation" type that you mention. No one took my bait.

As an aside, I wish American television had some of the panel type shows that I've seen from the BBC. I absolutely love QI, and I was also highly amused by "Never Mind the Full Stops," although it seems that perhaps British viewers weren't so amused, as it seems to have run only 5 episodes in 2 years.

I think we'd be hard pressed to find a good panel for a show like QI though, unfortunately.
I constantly try and "Esc-wq!" to finish and post webforum replies.

Perhaps if they added "bitch-slapping" à la Jerry Springer? ;)

Do such things exist? Examples please.

Umberto Eco wrote a novel about an academic institution called"Institute for dialectic tautology", I think it's where the study stuff like "oval green thoughts that dig profitably over tasty interpolations".

But even that could be (almost) meaningful in a suitable context. As mycroft's wikipedia link says, it's surprisingly difficult.

I think it's only a question of quantity of unrelated words until there is no possible context, however symbolical and abstract, where the sentence formed by these words would make sense.
