Hi,

just cross checking my recommendation for
a B/I audience.

You hold in 4th position, all green

J42
AQJ5
AK
AJ93

And the auction develops

.... - (Pass) - Pass - (1)
X - (Pass) - 2 - (2)
???

Do you make a 2nd t/o double, Pass or do you
do something else ?
Does the vulnerability, the scoring matter?

Thanks in advance for your help.

With kind regards
Marlowe

Too much to stay quiet.

Nothing other than double comes to mind.

Normally this would be a hand with three-cards for partner and not sensible for any other action but with extra values.

I see everyone says double but I do not know what the second double means? I play for penalty.
It's not what you are, it's how you say it!

It doesn't make sense that you had a takeout double of spades a few seconds ago on the first round of the bidding and now you have a penalty double of spades.

It also doesn't make sense that you have two calls available to show a great hand with spades ~ Double and 2NT. Especially when this is a very infrequent hand type.

On the other hand nothing stands out when you have a great hand like this without diamond support, without a suit, without a good spade stopper. I think therefore you have to give up the penalty double (it won't happen often anyway) and play double to show a very strong hand with no clear direction.

Hi,

Thanks, my recommendation is / was double.

But I wanted to make sure, that it was not only, because
personally I would not have been able to pass holding
half of the pot.

Although partner bidding diamonds, and our own shortage in
diamonds is a warning sign, ... 20HCP is too much, points
schmoints be dammed.

Double again looks right. I would expect it to show extras values, not thrilled about the suit partner chose and asking partner to make another call.
