Ever find yourself in this situation?
Partner makes an absurd defensive play. For instance, rather than trust your obvious screaming for a heart switch, he elects instead for the ruff-sluff. This causes your head to explode and your brain to not quite function properly. In retrospect, a very elaborate line by you might have saved the day and yielded the same result as the simple act of your partner not doing some idiot thing earlier.
Usually, partner asks why you did not do such-and-such and set them.
So, the saying from this weekend. I think it describes the situation very well.
Sometimes you can't see the table because your partner's ass is in your face."

Hunorous New Bridge Saying?

"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

Oh, we all do this to partner, of course. LOL
I think that perhaps the saying as a humorous observation might actually help. Whenever partner does something like this, remember that you cannot see the table and take a moment to peer around his ass to gain a new perspective on the layout. You might find a solution if you just look again for that table.

How about the rejoinder "When you look at your cards through your ass, you can rarely see the correct line of play."

I believe Terence Reese said that, when a player made a totally inexplicable play, they were distracted by the cow flying by.

Also similar, as dummy hits "Where is the hand you were bidding?"

Well Ken, have you already tried this on your (soon to be ex-) partner?
I make such huge mistakes sometimes.
I'm very happy to have partners who understand that and (being humans themselves) make mistakes too.
Insulting partner doesn't work and I strongly believe that you should not even do it as a joke.
I know that partner has a good sense of humour and he will recognize the joke.

Wow. Some of you have sensitive partners. This would be very tame for my world. "Your a damned idiot to try the progressive squeeze rather than the compound squeeze." Or, "What kind of moron doesn't use Embedded-Suit Smith Echoes?"
That said, the saying is not meant for at-the-table commentary. It is meant for commiserating over drinks. I doubt that ZT allows such witty phrases these days. You're pretty much limited to "I appreciate your interesting view and resulting problem, but my unique perspective of the defense issues caused me to not be harmonious with your line."

Is hunorous onerous + humerous? If so it seems like an apt adj. to describe this joke
