One of my favourite books in my bookshelf is the ACBL Bridge Encyclopedia. Unfortunately, it's starting to grow dated especially in articles related to online bridge, which has grown immensely since the last edition (2001). Does anybody here know if a new edition is in the works?

Yes, but it is still a few years away.

Perhaps two or more physical bindings are now appropriate, since the knowledge available, not so much of the internet, but through the internet, has multiplied.
Cheers,

As I commented earlier, I think that it would be a mistake for the ACBL to invest in producing another hardcover edition.

I think that it would make a lot more sense to invest in creating a bridge themed Wikipedia. I'd be shocked if the ACBL turned much of a profit on the Encyclopedia. The real reason to produce this type of content is promoting the game and selling expensive hardcover books isn't a good way to reach people.
