Just interested cos i psyche and got a bad board lol, playing sayc
All vul you are south

south___west _north__east
pass____1C____1D____x

i chosed to bid 1S since i believed that i could run to diamonds

south___west _north__east
pass____1C____1D____x
1S______P_____1NT___x
2D______P_____p_____3S
P_______3NT___X_____4S
P_______P_____X_____P
P______P

In the end they really have a spade fit and my partner did not smell a rat and happily dbled trusting me :). Maybe because i am playing an indivdual tourney
After the board east siad it is a bad bid ;) perhaps to rub salt into wound lol. He also got offended when i point out that he should perhaps bid 1S instead of dbl. B)

The 4 hands

Another question should I run from 4S dbled to 5D?
My ops say it is illegal to psyche in Italy, is it true?

This is a very popular psyche, and your partner not only should have smelled a rat, he should have smelled a stinky, rancid one.

If you had values and spades, after your partner wacked 3NT, you would have wacked 4 yourself. Your vulnerable opponents found enough to force to game and your partner has a very nice hand for the auction. I am afraid the cat is totally out of the bag on this one. To change analogies from the rat, when you failed to pass the 1Nt-X (choosing 2, your cat stuck its head out of the bag. When you passed 3, it might not have gotten completely out, but when you passed 4 the cat was all over the counter top and rubbing against everyone's legs.

Next, to the question if should you run to 5. I think the answer is no. The reason why, your psyche is so obvious now to all... that the double is inspite of your pyche. Your partner may have some reason for the double, like (assuming 15 point NT)...

And who knows, you might claw together 4 tricks, one in each suit. In fact, the problem with this psyche, you never get across to your partner that you have a five card fit for h is diamond suit, and if he is looking at 5 or 6 he might not get the idea that you have psyched. Over 1NT-DBL, I would have bid 3 rather than two to get across my legnth. With no specific agreement, your partner may play you for a rock on this auction, but if so, why jump in ... over the dbl, I think this should shout weakness and legnth. Now as to how many , you may still have four... or maybe not. But now you have 5 in play as a cheap sacrafice (losing 1, 1 and 1.

I might also consider a psych on this hand, and yes, it's very popular! But I think you should jump to 3 after the 1NT bid of opener. You know a lot, they have game. So you might want to play 3*. Ofcourse, partner might raise, bid 3NT,... but that's the risk you take with psyching as well.

But as the bidding goes now, I don't think your partner MAY double 3NT and even less 4. If you had good trumps, you'd double yourself, and since you didn't, your partner shouldn't expect much from you...

Another suggestion: why don't you pass 1NT Dbl and see what opps do. You'll get to 5 or 6 tricks imo :P

No, doesn't look like a good psyche to me.
I'd bid 4 diamonds showing 5 cards and put the pressure on east, maybe pd can take a good decision on his next turn.

Some hands are made for psyching, but this is not one of them. Even though I think your pd should have smelled the rat. I would bid 3/4 , and go from there. I do agree that the X was horrid, I think many would just bid 1 since that is all your hand is worth.
