Partner asked if I have the DQ and I don't, so what's the issue? In general, if partner wanted to know something else he should have bid differently.

The only two hands on which I might show it are the last two - the ones with 6 hearts. But even then, opposite say Ax Qxxx AKJxx xx we need the DQ coming down in 3 rounds to make a grand and it's against the odds, while I can see partner being prepared to hope for a 13th trick opposite the AK of hearts, the CA and the DQ.

I agree. I don't understand the issue.

If the bid specifically asks for the Q, then I don't have it.

If the bid asks for the Q or the equivalent based on the auction, that is a different question.

Ok sorry, the bid says he wants to play 7 if you have Q. Use your judgement.

Pard has like AKxxx or better. Hands 5 and 6 should have enough entries in pard to set up the diamonds, so bid 7 on those. Hand 2 might make 7, but only if pard has Q. I can't guess that, so bid 6 on hand 2. The other hands have too many spade losers.

Note: just because pard asked you a question, it doesn't mean you should stop thinking....

Thanks for those who answered. Frances and Nuno got it right, only hands 5 & 6 have good chances on 7. I was wondering if I had overbid my hand but seems not.
