In 4 ♠ doubled if they run after you double 4 hearts (would you double 4 ♠?), you project the defense would have to go, ♦ lead to your Ace, club return ducked by partner if he has the A. When you are in with a trump club return to partners A and club ruff if possible or a trump promotion.

This was a tight match against good opponents, and we where playing in the semi- finals with 1 board to go.

Final question is whether anyone would bid 5 ♣, although I did not consider this a good bid at the table?

It wouldn't occur to me to double.

Maybe we're already 10 up because teammates bid and made 4S, which could well be cold. Or maybe 4S isn't cold, but your doubles tell them how to make it so we lose 12, overturning the 5-IMP lead we'd picked up on that dull-looking partscore at the beginning of the set. Or maybe their spade fit is only 4-3 and 4H is solid.

Easy pass. Too many ways to loose by doubling.

1. There may be just one ruff or even no ruff beacuse pd has two spades?
2. Maybe 1 Spade was a baby bluff with a good HEart fit?
3. Pd may have no club tricks.
4. They find a better place, maybe even 4 NT?

If your analysis had been right, you win 2 aces and two ruffes for a great -1. IF pd has another club trick, we may get -2.

So the risk outweight the gains.

Pass, i prefer to go plus if possible. Doubling has so many ways to lose.
