Help
Today when I log in, I receive a message saying "You are banned from the main club". I wonder why since I have been a very nice player since ever.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Why am I banned in the main club

I will not address why you are banned specifically. But main room bans are typically issued by the computer automatically for one of two primary reasons.
Odds are good it was one of those.
- You are table host and you boot too many people over too short a period of time.
- You are booted too often by too many different table host.

Isn't there are third category?

No that is not an urban myth, but it difficult to run afowl of that one in the main room. It is much easier to run afowl of that in tournament. The reason, in main room it is how often per how many tables you play. In tournaments it is how often versus how many tournament (not hands) you play. That is why I said the main room bans are "typically" due to 1 or 2...

It would be nice if, when someone is banned, they received an e mail message stating why, and process for reinstatement if that is applicable. I don't know how possible this would be, but it doesn't seem fair to be banned and now know what to do from there.

Anyone who is banned gets a message when they either try to log on (site ban), or do long on (main room or tournament ban).
Main room bans prevent you from playing in the main room for some period of time. Usually 3 days. You can still play in team games, public and private clubs, and tournaments. You can still watch Vugraph.
Tournament bans prevent you from playing in tournaments, but you can still play in main room, watch vugraph, play in private and public clubs. I don't know about team games
Site ban keeps you off the bbo site.
In each case, you get a message with a date the ban will be lifted (if two years away, it is a permanent ban), and information on who to contact for details. Most people know why they were banned. Sometimes text is added to the pop up message about the details of the ban.

I haven't looked at the help topics in a good while so don't know if something like Inquiry's answer is somewhere in them. But, if not, I think BBO should take what he said and put in there exactly as he wrote it to explain that situation. It was excellent!
