How do I get partner to lead a club

Comment as you wish on west north and south's bidding but I was sitting East. Given that my bidding of the red suits on the first 2 rounds of bidding were natural, what bids can I make on rounds 3 4 and 5 which would maximise the chance of partner finding a club lead. Is it too esoteric to think that after doubling 5♦ and 6♥ a pass of 7♠ would be saying lead a ♥ or ♦ and therefore a double of 7♠ suggests an unusual lead which means clubs?

Don't make pointless doubles of cue bids of suits that you already bid. Now, when you double 7♠, partner will know that you do not want one of your suits led.

The double of 6H is pointless, the opponents are never playing there. Assuming you are willing to sacrifice over 6♠, just bid 7C. Since you are taking the sac vs. 6♠, this should be the suit you want led when defending 7♠.

There is no need to double 7S now.

Alternatively, passing 6H and doubling 7S should send the same message. (Partner should already know that a diamond is not cashing, and rule it out).

Is the word "pass" not in your vocabulary?

If you want partner to lead a club maybe you shouldn't be doubling 5D and 6H? Were those doubles designed simply to get the lead you don't want or to help the opponents have more room to figure out the nature of their controls?

I mean seriously you tell partner to lead TWO suits and then ask us how to get him to lead the third suit. If you had not Xed 5D and 6H and then you doubled 7S do you ever think he would get this lead wrong?

Agreed. Partner will probably also work out that all the dude bid was cue, cue, cue and cue so probably has the red suits controlled and a source of tricks, clubs.

Though would be funny if S then 'imaginatively' removed to 7NT. Pass/Double says to lead ♦/♥ respectively?
