Many years ago I was playing on a team with Mike Passell. He bid a grand in diamonds, rather than 7N, because he pictured the need for a trump squeeze! He was right.
I don't remember the hand, nor do I remember the precise discussion, but I do remember realizing that some people simply see deeper into the hand than I did... heck, I hadn't even seen a trump squeeze at the table back then, let alone formed the image in my head, during the bidding, of needing one
As for bidding contracts in the expectation that a squeeze of some sort may be needed, that is (I think) routine. We can count, say, 12 tricks, we see that our side likely has some unspecified extras and we bid grand knowing that it is cold on good breaks, or a lucky lie or a squeeze... that isn't what Passell did, of course: he pictured the layout and the exact mechanism he'd need.

Back when I played relay, and when we were in a groove, I once showed my hand to the opps before the opening lead, claiming 13 tricks before dummy came down.
Later, once I realized that we sometimes screwed up the relay, I stopped doing this

Sometimes with natural bidding you bid 7N knowing it will either be cold or on a squeeze or on a finesse depending on some jacks and tens. Best I can come up with.
