Hi,

I’d like to gauge what sort of interest there would be in holding another BBO Forum Indy :)

Well, we have enough for an indy - if you send me your BBO Id either on here or
via BBO chat I will set up a member list.

Next and most difficult step is to decide on a time.

I have recovered the old tournament list so if you played in the last BBF indy you will automatically be included, I have added new people who indicated they wanted to play.

There is a 8 board tourney set for 1pm pdt Sunday - I'll let you work out what that is in your local time. :)

I'll also take the liberty of adding a few of you as TD's sceptic, MrD, Ben.

01:00:00 p.m. Sunday October 7, 2007 in PST8PDT converts to
10:00:00 p.m. Sunday October 7, 2007 in Europe/Brussels
...or is PST8PDT not the same as PDT?
(I'll not be able to make it anyway).

hmm I am not sure but it's 02.12 CET now and the tournament description at the moment = 17h48min so...20.00 CET

EDITED: it looks like Jillybean set it for 11.oo AM PDT for the moment. May be she will change it, I dont' know.

Hi Kathryn

I am anticipating spending the afternoon at IKEA. Don't think that I'll be able to play in the tournament.

I'd like to make a general suggestion: Lengthen the event.

1. An eight board tournament is a complete crap shoot. Players need a 80% game to win and then bid/play accordingly. Simply put, the tournament design promotes a ridiculous form of bridge.

2. Eight boards isn't much time. I'd go out of my way to reserve time to play in a 24 board tournament. I won't do the same for eight boards. Its not worth skipping something real to roll dice for an hour.

Hi Richard

I was thinking these indys would be more of a learning exercise to generate some interesting hands and discussion for forum rather than a crap shoot to gain large swings and win the event. 8 boards is about the limit of time I can steal on a Sunday afternoon.

My agenda isnt the same as others of course and I'm happy to schedule any tournament to suit. Just tell me what you want I will set it up and if I'm available I'll help TD.
