As of today, Sept 18, 2007; 1PM
Number of players participated: unknown; over 17483
Number of players got master points: 17,483
Master points awarded: 321,407.4
Can this be compared to any single bridge clubs?

It's not really a fair comparison, since:
Obviously more bridge players are able to access BBO than live within driving distance of any particular club.
ACBL awards masterpoints for BBO at twice the rate of regular clubs (since you play 12 boards for the same award you would get in 26 boards at a regular club).
It's not clear what timespan this is referring to. If we measure the time span in terms of number of sessions instead of number of days, it might be substantially closer.
In any case, I find it amusing that the "expected masterpoints per dollar" tradeoff in the ACBL-BBO tourneys is better than for essentially any other event ACBL runs and that this holds true for virtually all players regardless of skill level (ignoring the fact that some don't pay their own entries of course).

Don't forget ACBL's rule that only half the masterpoints required for any particular master level can come from online play. So although you may be able to rack up masterpoints online faster, they have diminishing returns if your goal is to hit the next milestone (and what else are masterpoints for?).
