5H is suicidal but worked very well. I would have doubled it with the south hand. On the actual hand south did very well. Can't blame east for bidding 6H.

I like S's actions (and N was blameless as well). I agree with 5♠.. the auction suggests a mess of clubs in partner's hand.

As for EW, west is a maniac on speed, and east is an innocent dupe... altho 3♦ will raise some eyebrows amongst the more disciplined preemptors

The 3D bid is a warning sign for west. Generally when partner bids your short suit you should pull in a notch.

I would have doubled with the south hand.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.
