Are you really going to let a 3 card opening keep you out of your 9 card fit?
2♦ seems pretty clear to me. Not sure how much stronger I'd need to be to bid more. Doesn't seem like much.

2D now is fine
agreed: I'd go further and say 'no second choice'. Okay, 3♦... but i'd need KQ1098xx with my side Ace to make that bid.

2♦. 1♠ is a little weird; if LHO had a 4=4=3=2, I'd expect an SOS. And if LHO had a 5-6, I'd expect LHO to sit. I'm putting LHO on a 4=1=4=4 or a 4=2=4=3.
Like the others, 2♦ is clear. We can't pass with a stiff spade and we can't jump with this 7 count.

I forgot to mention you're playing with a fair partner against a couple of dubs. Probably has never heard the term SOS outside of 'Titanic'.

The rest of this problem is pretty mundane, I think. I bid 2♦ at the table and P bid 3♣ so I bid 3NT.
Scoring: MP
Lead: Low ♠

After you penalized 1♦ and bid 2♦ over the second double it seems outlandish to take another bid with the norht hand, which was pretty well dexcribed by the two doubles. Not that 3NT is a bad contract though.
