Bidding(opponents always pass):
P-1♦-1♠-3♠-4♠


I realize that my partner bid it wrong. I still have to play the hand though so how do you play it (I am east)? Lead is ♥J. Average pickup game with average opponents.

(First post BTW)
All IMO. Junior wanting to soak up all the knowledge he can.

About your play problem, I have no idea, i would probably just play for DQ onside and SJ onside in case of 4-2 split.

Hope the experts here will come up with something.

Here is the only line that I see that has a reasonable chance.

Win trick one, run the ♦9. If it wins, assume that the diamond finesse is working and play K, Q and another trump to the A. If the ♠J falls, you are home.

If the ♦9 loses to the Q and a heart comes back, ruff with an honor, play the other trump honor from dummy and another spade to the 10. If the 10 wins and the spades are 3-3, you are home.

I don't see anyone answering this problem, so maybe everyone is afraid of it.

Please come up with any improvements on my line.
