Scoring: MP

(weak 2) - ?

First time with an expert partner. What is your call?

You are playing Lebensohl, so if you double what is your plan after a 2NT response?

I'll go with 2N. If I double I suppose the intension would be to bid 3N over partner's 2N.
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

Double with the intention to bid 3NT over 2NT.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Double. Nice cozy bid.

Agree with the majority here.
Too strong for a direct 2NT.
Double followed by NT.
Kind regards,

The other nice thing about double is partner might bid lebensohl 2NT with like Qx of hearts. Rightsided, on the house.

We have to X then bid 3N over partner's 2N, but I can't say I like the auction very much, opposite many hands we will be down a lot?

Actually, here is a weird idea: how about inverting a direct 2N and X, then 2N, over a weak 2M? The idea is that with a balanced 15-18 you can guess pretty well over Lebensohl, bid game over an encouraging bid and respect a signoff, where as with 19-21 you are pretty much on a guess opposite the weak response. So X could be balanced 15-18 (will bid on over encouraging response), and direct 2N would be 19-21.

Sounds a little like a Weiss double. 2N would be a takeout however, not 19-21.
