♦♥♠♣
Partner deals at all white and opens 1♠, passed to you.
You have a good GF hand with 4+♠ and you bid Jacoby 2NT.
However, your LHO now sticks in a 3♥ overcall.
Partner now bids 3NT, showing a moderate-count (e.g 15-16) opening hand with no special shortness or length features (such as a side 5-card suit, or a singleton).
Now your RHO gets into the act and raises the overcaller to 5♥, and it's your call now.
Based on partner's 3NT bid, you don't believe that a slam exists for you, so your choices are: either bid 5♠, pass or double.
Under what conditions (if any) do you bid 5♠?
Under what do you pass (forcing) ?
And under which conditions do you double ?
{NB - My partner and I are considering different methods here. Method A, pretty simplistic, is Responder will bid on if he thinks that 5♠ is right, will double if he thinks that is right, and will pass to say "I'm not sure, I can go either way, you decide."
Method B is, double with relatively low defense against 5♥ (or maybe better put, double with a relatively high offense-to-defense-ratio). Otherwise, pass. Partner will decide in the end. }
Am mainly interested in different methods here, and in what experienced players would generally play. Thanks.

At equal vul dbl.Red vs white bid on if u have extras; dbl if u have 2-3 small in opponents suit; pass if u have honor (A,k,Q) in opponents suit so that p can decide.
