Beat #45 Schuett tonight in the Spingold and earned the right to play Nickell tomorrow, since we get the 64 seed. Seems strange that the team that beat Schuett in the afternoon earns the 45 seed and the 65 seed (us) gets 64. Oh well.

Its Han, Arend, myself and Brian Gilbert.

Wish us luck :)

You were in a 4 way with 3 survivors, correct? Therefore, the afternoon winners advance and get an evening bye, while the two losers playoff for the right to advance to the next day.

The two afternoon winners get the higher two seeds of the four team group, and the evening survivor gets the lowest seed.

Does that make sense?

Not unless they make a last minute change to the schedule, and if they do, I think they will show one of the quarter-finals from the Wagar (women).

Anyway, I also wish Phil & Co. the best of luck!

Does that make sense?

My understanding of this is since we were always the low seed in our 4 way that we would have made the 64 seed under any circumstances.

Put it this way - if in the afternoon, 65 beats 44 and 64 beats 45, and 44 beats 45 in the evening, that under what you said - the 44 now becomes the 64 seed? That wasnt my understanding.

Thanks for the good karma everyone (even Justin is secretly rooting for us, I'm sure :(). It should be quite the experience.
