What's your general plan?

If you pass because you consider any other action crazy, what do you do if partner reopens various things?

Pass. 3NT is very close.

If pd doubles, I pass. If he bids 3S, I bid 3NT. If he bids 4m, I raise to 5m.

I don't think this hand is as good as it looks.

Totally obvious to bid 3NT. It doesn't always work but you just have to do it. Sometimes partner is just too weak to reopen, at the 3 level passing this hand puts way too much pressure on him.

Mandatory 3NT. Considering the preemptor has an average 7hcp, then the average expected force for partner is 8.5 hcp. He'll pass with that, when 3nt will be on. So i'll take my bet

Sure, it might not work out well for us, but I can't stand passing with this.

Do I have to bid NOW? Probably not. Pard, with 9-10 hcp and heart shortage, will likely double. If he passes, he has less and you have nothing :) :) :)

I'm gonna gamble a pass and pass to pard's eventual dbl.

Which 8.5hcp of SAKQJ, HQ,DAK,CAJ do you think 3NT makes? 6c minor toA and S-stop? How is partner adding 4 tricks on NOT 10+hcp?
I want 10+ partner that reopens for game.
What side stuff does 3H on HQ109xxxx(xx) have? 3-loser suit+ 4-side suit losers?

AKTx xx xxxx JTx?
Jxxxx x AQxx Jxx?
KQx x KTxxx xxx?

And none of these hands are even similar to each other, so there are tons of hands partner can have to make 3NT on 9, 8, even 7 and no six card suits.

Since you say you don't want to be in 3NT opposite 8 or 9 then are you claiming if you opened 1NT and partner invited you would reject, if you knew you were nearly 100% for three heart tricks?
