Playing at open pairs in sectionals, I did really poorly with my mentor type guy (we've played 4 times before and always placed... oh well) Bad bad defense by me pretty much blew the whole thing, but anyway...

Many players, including me, play Michaels as either weak or very strong. I would overcall 1S with this good but not great hand. However, I believe Mike Lawrence, for example, plays Michaels at all strengths, so you can do what you like.
Having bid 2C, I really don't know what to do. I probably pass.

Opening lead is going to be a diamond, through the king, to the diamond bidder.
Looks like down one to me- if partner wants to sacrifice, he's welcome to it. Pass.
