I'm not really trying to sell anything, just sharing.

Among well known partnerships, Fredin-Lindkvist played it for the full duration of their partnership (1997-2006).

If you don't like the idea, fine.

I have used bridgebrowser to search a fair number of databases to see if I can find anyone using this CJO. So far, I have found 2 hands, modest results for the user. Interesting, I found a number of 2H/2S jump over calls by you ulven (all on okbridge databases, not bbo), but they were more or less typical weak jump overcalls. Well one was 5-3-3-2 with AKQxx of spades and a side honor, but ok.

So from online data, it is not yet possible to determine how successful these bids might be. I think I would play DBL of the jump as penalty oriented especially if when made vul looking at some practice hands. What defense do you recommend to people seeing this CJO for the first time?

Jump overcalls with a passed pard can be rather random bids, precisely because pard passed and thus isn't strong enough to bid unless he has a fit (in which case bidding is fine). I've sucessefully overcalled on auction

pass (1) 2

with as little as

x
Qxxxxx
xxx
xxx

or as much as

A
KQJxx
Kxx
Qxxx

The last hand's overcall is due to our side being NV and pard's failure to open a 5 card weak 2 or 9-11 1NT. He actually had some random 6 count. Opps overbid to 3 and went 2 down for 6 imps to our side.

Note that this sort of random overcall should be alerted and explained as "pressure bid: 5+ card suit and 0-15 hcp". Otherwise you get a psych warning as jtf did :)
