What you see is a labor of love over the last couple of months to make an unwieldy batch of code turn into a place to talk about bridge and get those interested in the subject here to talk about our topic.  Feel free to browse the many categories and see what we're all about.

For those of you coming from BBO a special welcome is in order.  Over the last year that I've been with the BBO staff I've had the opportunity to see it grow into something far more than I even thought we could do then.  You are the reason that these forums exist - it has been the support and reinforcement of the online bridge community that has kept us going.

BBF is as much a resource for you as it is for us.  It is another link between us and our userbase and we hope you will take advantage of it.

Take care,
John

Patience Rewarded :-)) or as some say 'All Good Things Come to Those Who Wait ' .....  For the past five months I've been tempted from time to time to ask 'What became of the Newsletter?'   -   well THIS is WAY beyond expectations -  a very big Thank You to all involved in its creation.  BridgeBase just keeps going from strength to strength.

John:       Congratulations on turning an excellent concept into reality. Am sure it will be greatly appreciated by a multitude! One comment; the text colour on the home page could use a bit more contrast to the black background.  :) Having said that, I can live with it though.       Thanks & regards, Bill

We're still tweaking the colors to come up with something easily readable.  It's a lot of trial and error but we will make it work and readable for as many as we can. :)

Thanks,
John

John Tuttle (Skrshawk) deserves at least 90% of the credit for the BBO forums. The whole thing was his idea and he did most of the work that was necessary to implement this facility. Uday provided some technical help, but the forums are really Skrshawk's baby.

Thanks John!

Very nice.   :)  Congratulations on setting up a classy forum.  Were you going to include an area where other bridge forums could set up links?

Interesting note about the BBO foums

The link titled
"View the 10 most recent posts of this forums."

Actually displays the 10 most recently edited threads.
[You only see the most recent posting in each thread]

Sorry to say that it took me a while to figure this one out.

I have a problem-ette. There was a discussion at our table tonight about the criteria for opening(or rather,  NOT opening) a weak2. I wanted to post a question  ;D.

Now, I know there is a string on pre-empts somewhere on these boards. I will look in a while. But I realise looking for strings is like looking for a needle in a haystack  ::). (Well ok, I exaggerate - A TAD  :-X)

But what I wanted to suggest is: Any chance of having an index of strings to make our search easier? Will also help us (not) to create one  if (not) needed.

While I am at it, megga kudos :-* to you all who are busy on these boards  8) 8) 8). They are really great. It is amazing to see the number of members clock up daily. ( :-/we need an "applause" icon  ;D)

haha true irony. I violated the rule that if you're correcting another post, make sure you didn't make any typos!

That's as inevitable as posting a 12- or 14-card hand to r.g.b.
