I'm considering starting up goulash tournaments again. The old ones used to be just TOO extreme for me, getting 10-card suits all the time and not randomly dealt (which could be seen from sequences like ♣QJT98765).
I have a script that makes completely random goulash distributions into PBN format and will try to run a tourney with those if there's interest.

Completely random goulash? Oximoron?
I think I can guess approximately what you mean, though. Inflated chance of getting unbalanced hands but otherwise completely random?

The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

Okay what the script does is that it calculates a value of unbalancedness for the actual distribution and discards it if the deal is not unbalanced enough. As such it makes sure that it takes a completely random sample from the set of "deals that are unbalanced enough".

what's wrong with a script that performs a random shuffle, sorts the in random suit and size order, stacks the hands and deals them out in random chunks of 3 through, say, 6 cards?

Nothing except that you would have to write from scratch, for this you can use sater57 's deal script
Example output:
1. 7 K T 8 A Q J 9 6 5 4 3 2 - A J 2 T 9 8 4 3 - K Q 7 6 5 A J 5 3 2 Q T 6 K 9 8 7 4 A 9 6 5 Q 7 3 2 K 4 J T 8 2. Q 7 4 K T 9 8 6 3 2 A J 5 - 8 6 3 K T 9 7 5 2 A Q J 4 A K T J 5 Q 9 8 7 6 4 3 2 J T 9 3 2 K 8 6 4 Q 7 5 A 3. Ah... Now you are hitting on the real advantage.
In my script I can regulate the amount of freakyness I want. These were made I think on a setting that 1 in 1000 hands is taken. I think this is enough for the general public.

This type of of hands fall into 2 categories:
1) They are bid and played unilateral and are boring.
2) They really need an established partnership to bid or defend them.

you need an established partnership? I don't think so, you just should change the meaning of your opening bids: 2 Club strong? When did you need it in a goulash tournament? And, you need a similar "common sense", but what else? nothing
goulash hands are always guessing; if you're good at guessing it's great, if not, it's bad; that's what you're doing
