I enjoyed spectating today’s TopFlight tournament. While watching the event, I was struck by the idea that it might be possible to “test” some of the design goals for establishing the club. One of the major reasons that TopFlight was started was to provide experts with a restricted environment where they could practice top quality bridge. In theory this should result in more homogeneous scores.
It would be very interesting to apply standard statistical measurement techniques to the results from the TopFlight tournaments. For example, calculate the standard deviation of MP or IMP scores in TopFlight tournaments with similar sized events from an unrestricted club.

Hi!
That is an iteresting idea, but 5 tables are a little less data for valid statistics.
But keep the idea in mind, we will see.
Have a nice day
