3♠. This is weak. I think it is almost impossible for this to be too high on this hand.

2♠ isn't really an option since that is invitational. You have to bid 3♠ or 1♠ then compete.

3S for me. Need to increase the bidding past their support double range if they play it regular levels, and I want to say my hand in one shot.

I held a similar hand at Palm Springs and bid 1♠. On my next round, I heard 4♥, pass, pass to me.

I don't like a 6223 either, but I like the idea of getting my hand off my chest early.

Well if you think 3S does not show a purely defensive piece of crap then bidding 3S is not getting your hand off of your chest, it's misdescriptive. I'm very happy to pass if it goes 4H on my left pass pass, and I am very happy I didn't induce partner to save.
