I think if I have a game I have been duly screwed - pass.

Let's say that a likely shape for partner is a 3=5=1=4, or a 2=5=2=4. In order for us to make game, he needs to have an opening or near opening. With such a hand he might have ventured a 3♥ call. If he has only 4♥ and long clubs, such as a 3=4=1=5 he might double. The only hand I can think of where partner would be stuck would be a 2=4=2=5 (or 2=4=1=6), in which case we will need a lot of strength with the combined misfit.
Now, let's think of the worst case scenario. Partner has a 3=4=2=4 with about a weak NT strength. I think if partner has xx in diamonds, he *might* still double. But with the likely ruffs, game might still not make.

♠ K Q x and take the finesse or K Q x x
♥ A x x x
♣ x x x [ x x]
♦ x or x x
You have the ♦ stopper, they take 4 ♦ and you take 9
It could easily turn out badly, but its not like asking pard to have something unrealistic.

We got 150 out of 3♦. The other table balanced with 2♠ after a weak 2 and got to game. A ♦ was led, and teammate didn't duck the ♥K, so it rolled
