Scoring: MP

Pass-Pass-1-?

At my table it went like this:

Pass-Pass-1-Dbl;
2-Pass-Pass-3;
3-4-Pass-4;
Pass-5-All Pass.

Seconds after doubling I realised that 2 followed by 4 was perhaps a better way to bid this (is the 4 bid ambiguous?). Do you agree? What differences might these two auctions indicate?

Thanks,

Justin.

After double first then 3D, i think you showed a strong hand with suit.
Partner bid 4 freely, you can easily have a slam, so any bid other than 5 is better to be taken as slam try. What's difference between 4 and 4? I think 4 must promise control, otherwise, how do you know is not open? If 4 promise contorl, then 4 will deny control, it's cue and slam try, Any ideas?
Sure, bidding 2 as Michaels, and later will show this hand better.
