1. In bidding table, at times, the table is prone to pass out the hand inadvertantly.
2. In tournament, I can not call up my friend's list at all.

Have only tried the annotation features, the partnership bidding features and the private club application features so far. Before the problems - THE ANNOTATION FEATURES ARE TERRIFIC THNX
Even if u don't fix the bugs, will keep it cos of the annotation features! The annotated movies can be opened by the older version - which is also great! Fantastic improvement over having to open the lin files in notepad and adding all the pipes and tags manually!
Problems so far in the bidding room [btw, i was host, my partner was usiing the older version, tho - could it be important?]:
1. hands in bidding get passed out when the settings for opps bidding is either "programmed", or "host-controlled"
2. I was host as South, could enter West's bids, but couldn't enter East's - maybe i messed the settings?
3. The system took over me and doubled my partner's bid [not a bad idea, too!] but unfortunately couldn't save the bidding movie! Settings were host-controlled bidding.
Private club application was a song.
Is there a way for us to keep logs of what is happening so that it's easier for u to fix the bugs?
THNX again, guys!

No bugs in the library, vugraph archive etc - except: is it possible to save the lectures, articles and DOWs locally on my hard drive?

Thanks for your enthusiasm about the new version.
All kinds of weird things can happen in Partnership
Bidding if a new client and an old client are partners.
Do you know if any of the problems you reported
happen when both partners have new clients?

It seems that the host bidding does not work if the host is not one of the players.

Sorry - it never occurred to me to allow a host who
was not a player to bid for EW.
I can see how this could be useful. I will see what I
can do about including this in the next version (which
rates to be out within a day or 2).
Thanks Wayne - good thinking as usual!

Please note:
a) This is not the official release; it is a pre-release version, and we're hoping you'll help us find all the remaining bugs. When we're ready, we'll automatically update each customers version of BBO as they login.
c) The readme is at http://www.bridgebas...a353/readme.txt
d) If you want to preserve the older version, rename c:bridge base onlinenetbridgevu.exe to something like oldver.exe and use this to login with 3.5.1
e) Report issues with the beta in the forums...we've setup a beta353 thread in
Bridge Base Forums / Bridge Base Online Discussion / Suggestions for the Software
f) The upgrade is at www.bridgebase.com/beta353/bbo_update.exe
g) The full setup is at www.bridgebase.com/beta353/bbo_setup.exe

Tested with a new-client partner; none of the bugs [pass-out or weird bids] occurred; still, when alerting opps' bidding we ddin't manage to get the alert explained [fuction button for entering explanation was locked].
Would be great if a non-playing host could do the opps' bidding - s/he'd be in a better position to imagine some sane alternatives!

Thanks for the update.
The "non-playing host" cannot bid problem is on the
server end. It will get fixed before too long.
I will look into the alert problem you mention.

I think one workaround might be to save the enemies list to a file ( software supports this) and use this file to EXCLUDE users when creating a tourney.
On the other hand, if you dont care much, best to just wait - i will fix this in a couple of days once i am thru w/my current project

The features have been enhanced, but I'm not sure how to :
1)change dealer--right now it seems like north is always dealer, can't change that.
2)Not sure how to input the hands for a few boards anymore..it just seems a bit unintuitive now. Must I preselect the no. of boards I want? Can't just add as I wish? The help file is now outdated...
3)I preset 3 hands as a test. After the first board, the movie was different. The board that was unplayed disappeared, and the newly played board took its place.
Think a help file is needed here

North is always the deal on board 1, East on
board 2...
When you create a set of deals (using the
New button in Movie window) you specify
the range of board numbers. The Add button
in the movie window creates a new (blank)
deal at the end of the list.
The host of a teaching table will see a button
near the top of the Movie window that is a
toggle between "show your deals" and "show
this table". Use this to switch between ths
deal file that you uploaded and the movies
that were generated from play at the table
you are at.
Yes, the documentation needs updating
For now, best to ask me if you have more
questions. I am about to leave for a tournament
and I am not be able to respond to e-mail
(or forums posts) until I get home on Jan 1.
