The latest version of the BBO is now available.
You can install this version by going to:

www.bridgebase.com/3.4.12/bbo_setup.exe

Please make sure that you have exited BBO
COMPLETELY before you try to install the
new version.

For those of you who have already installed
3.4.11 you will not see very much that is new
in 3.4.12 (although the way the Bridge Library
on Online Store work have been much improved).

Still, it is a good idea for 3.4.11 users to upgrade
to the new version. The reason is that we never
intended 3.4.11 to be made available to the general
public. Unfortunately word about 3.4.11 spread
very quickly and it soon became too late for us to
try to stop it. 3.4.11 was meant for testing by
our staff and a handful of others (such as the
yellows) and it contains several bugs that were
fixed in 3.4.12.

We are hoping that a lot of people will read this
post and download 3.4.12. Our plan will be to fix
any problems that these people report, create a
3.4.13 if necessary within a week, and distribute
that version to all BBO members through our
automatic upgrade facility.

Please report any problems that you find in the
new version (or old versions for that matter) to:

fred@bridgebase.com

For those of you who have 3.4.8 (the latest official
version of the software), you will see the following
new features when you install 3.4.12. Those of you
who have 3.4.11 already have access to these features:

- Support for individual tournaments

- A "tourneys" button when you are at a bridge table.
Clicking this button will display a list of tournaments
(similar to how the "Lobby" and "Tables" buttons
currently work).

- Tournament hosts have some new options available
for restricting access in their tournament in various ways.

Besides the rewrite of the Bridge Library and Online
Store areas (and several bug fixes), version 3.4.12
also contains these new features:

- The software now remembers your setting of
Hide/Show Lobby News, but when we change the
Lobby News this setting is ignored (everyone will
see the new news when they log in).

- We believe we have significantly improved the
speed at which BBO is able to send and receive
data over the Internet. People with slow connections
should notice big improvements in this area.

- Private club owners now have the ability to send
mail messages to all members of their clubs with
a single command.

- Lobby chat is not displayed when you are in a
chat room regardless of your setting of "Ignore
Lobby Chat".

- Some new flags have been added (Bangladesh,
Ukraine, and a nicer flag for Saint Lucia). Let us know
if your flag is missing!

We hope you like the new version. Please let us know
if you find any problems!
