Are the cards actually smaller in the new version, or are they just spaced differently?

They look wider to me too (shorter is probably an optical illusion)

Changed from elvish looking to dwarvish looking. :>

Spaced differently, but only in wide mode.

People have been complaining for years that the cards are too close together. Now, if there is room on the screen, they are further apart.

Re your post elsewhere at

I also have found on occasion that downloading the upgrade.exe file fails the crc check. But then I repeat the process and it downloads ok. Sounds like an internet thingy.

Anyway, tiny point re. current version:

If you float the mouse over the name of a player who is playing in the "Relaxed" club it says he is playing in the "Friendly" club. I don't really care what you call it but you may prefer to be consistent.
Psych (pron. saik): A gross and deliberate misstatement of honour strength and/or suit length. Expressly permitted under Law 73E but forbidden contrary to that law by Acol club tourneys.

Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).
Masterminding (pron. mPosted ImagesPosted ImagetPosted Imager-mPosted ImagendPosted Imageing) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.

"Gentlemen, when the barrage lifts." 9th battalion, King's own Yorkshire light infantry,
2000 years earlier: "morituri te salutant"

"I will be with you, whatever". Blair to Bush, precursor to invasion of Iraq

Ah right. Thanks Fred

Hmm, I just tried switching out of wide mode to look at this. It seems that if you use the options menu to do this then the chat pane disappears, but if you use Ctrl+W instead then it doesn't. Is that supposed to happen?

Not intentional. It sounds like you have found the first bug in Release Candidate #1 (which had a life span of less than 1 hour). :)
